Our horseback trips are not a typical trail ride, each group has a private ride!Our half-day and full-day rides consist of various rider experience levels. We can accommodate inexperienced horseback riders, families and experienced/adventurous riders.

Riders will experience a great ride in the Bull River Valley along the river. A picnic lunch is provided and there will be plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This ride is great for novice and beginner riders, families, and children over 6. This is our easiest mountain ride with even trails and gentle terrain.
The “BULL” Rider Rating: = 2. Riders must be in average physical shape and need to be able to get on and off a horse with minimal assistance and consistently ride a horse for 1 hour straight. This ride is ideal for novice riders, inexperienced riding in mountainous terrain and families.

The Horseback Adventure is staged in the Bull River Drainage approximately 1 hour from Cranbrook or Fernie. Arrival time at camp location is 9:00am. You will be introduced to the guides and the horses, orientation will take place and the ride will begin at approximately 10:00am. Your ride will consist of a 3-hour trip with a 1-hour picnic lunch along the trail. Departure time from main lodge is approximately 2:30pm

This ride takes you along the Bull River, then crosses the river and up the other side of the mountain gaining elevation for a great view of the Bull River Drainage. Returning to the lodge, a hearty campfire grilled steak dinner will be prepared for you!
The “BULL” Rider Rating: = 4. Riders must be in better average physical shape and need to be able to get on and off a horse independently and consistently ride a horse for 1.5 hours straight.
This ride is more difficult than our “Half Day Ride and Trail Picnic” as the terrain lends to some elevation changes, river crossing and may require riders to do limited walking and leading a horse during the ride.
If riders would like to experience the Cowboy Steak Dinner and prefer to ride our easier ½ day trail this can be arranged.

*The Horseback Adventure is staged in the Bull River Drainage approximately 1 hour from Cranbrook or Fernie. Arrival time at camp location is 2:45pm. You will be introduced to the guides and the horses, orientation will take place and the ride will begin at approximately 3:30pm. Your ride will consist of a 3-hour trip in the Bull River Drainage. On your return at approximately 6:30pm a Cowboy Steak Dinner will be prepared for you at our lodge. Steaks are organic grass-fed beef. We do not serve alcoholic beverages, but you can BYO spirits. The lodge closes at 9:00pm.

The ride starts off at the main lodge and quickly heads for the mountain tops, the trail twists up a drainage, crossing creeks and gaining elevation until the summit is reached. We will break for lunch at the summit and then continue down the mountain on a different route until we reach the valley bottom. Once at the main valley bottom we continue back to the main lodge. This is a full day ride, snacks, drinks and a hearty lunch will be provided throughout the day!
*The “BULL” Rider Rating = 6. Riders must have ridden a horse on trails and be able to handle a horse with some confidence, not scared of heights, must be in good physical shape, able to easily get on and off a horse on flat ground and steep terrain, walk up and down steep trails leading the horse.

The ride starts off at the main lodge and quickly heads for the mountain tops, the trail twists up a drainage, crossing creeks and gaining elevation until you reach one of our small mountain cabins. We will break for lunch at the cabin and tie off the horses. Riders can then decide to hike to either the Lookout or the Alpine Lake. Both hikes are approximately 1.5 hours round trip, with moderate terrain. We return to the cabin, saddle-up and make our way back to the main lodge. This is a full day ride, snacks, drinks, and a hearty lunch will be provided throughout the day!
*The “BULL” Rider Rating = 6. Riders must have ridden a horse on trails and able to handle a horse with some confidence, not scared of heights, must be in good physical shape, able to easily get on and off a horse on flat ground and steep terrain, walk up and down steep trails leading the horse. In addition, riders must be in good enough shape to then hike 1.5 hours to the lookout or the lake and then ride and walk down the trail back to main camp.

The ride starts off from the main lodge along the Bull River, it then crosses the river heading up the drainage, crossing creeks and gaining elevation fast. The Rider needs to be able to ride mountainous terrain and occasionally lead the horse. During your ride you will be on steep mountain horse trails -so riders that are scared of heights or of riding horses in steep areas – this is probably not the ride for you.
We break for lunch at the top of the drainage and enjoy the beautiful view. After lunch, riders can participate in a hike to the mountain saddle top which is approximately 1.5 hours round trip. After the hike we return to the lunch area, saddle-up and continue on our way back to the main lodge. This is a full day ride, snacks, drinks and a hearty lunch will be provided throughout the day!

Riders must have ridden a horse in mountainous terrain and able to handle a horse with some confidence, not scared of heights, steep terrain, must be in good physical shape, able to easily get on and off a horse on steep terrain, walk up and down steep trails leading the horse. In addition, riders must be in good enough shape to then hike 1.5 hours and then ride and walk down the trail to main camp.
